How and when did you discover CrossFit?
I first discovered crossfit during my four years of veterinary school. I would go every so often to help relieve stress and pent up anxiety as it was a fun and rewarding outlet.
When I moved to New Hampshire in May of 2020 one of the first things I did was look for a gym. I didn’t find Everproven until August and at first I was terrified as I just moved to a new country and now I was joining a new gym. Everyone at Everproven is amazing and makes me feel at home and helps to push me do my best.
How has CrossFit affected you since you started?
Crossfit has not only made me stronger physically but mentally. I always struggled with body image issues and lacking confidence. Crossfit has helped me change how I view working out and my health. I am able to focus on my movements and form instead of calories or numbers. Also, lifting heavy is a lot more fun than I thought it would be.
What class do you normally attend?
I am one of the 5:30am crazies. Nothing beats getting up with the birds and working out before most people are awake.
What are your short and long term goals?
My short term goals include getting 15 double unders in a row and getting my left shoulder back to 100% range of motion.
Long term goals would be chin ups and muscle ups. I also want to get better at fueling my body with whole foods and being healthier overall.
What’s your favorite WOD/movement?
Back squats and deadlifts
What’s your LEAST favorite WOD/movement?
Burpees for sure.
What is one interesting fact many people don’t know about you?
I learned to speak and write in French before English.
