August Athlete of the Month: Anthony Mehlig

How and when did you discover CrossFit?  

I discovered CrossFit years ago from my older sister Theresa aka “Tessa”. She has been doing CrossFit for over 10 years and would go to her competitions and thought it was so cool.. fast forward SOS was getting involved with EverProven and signed up and never turned back..

How has CrossFit affected you since you started?  

CrossFit has affected every part of my life. Mentally, Spiritually and of course Physically. I tell everyone being over weight is huge part of my family tree and CrossFit is literally changing my family tree. To have energy to play with my kids and bring them to parks, making memories is priceless.

What class do you normally attend?   

5:15pm class is usually when I attend.

What are your short and long term goals?    

My short term goals are to be able to keep my pace and not go too hard in the first round.

My long term goal is to be able to be better than I was yesterday.

What’s your favorite WOD/movement?   

Snatch is definitely my favorite movement.  

What’s your LEAST favorite WOD/movement?   

Burpees of course .. like who really likes them haha 

What is one interesting fact many people don’t know about you?  

I’m currently being mentored to become a pastor.
