How and when did you discover CrossFit?
June 2019, I originally joined to do a “Shred,” and afterward had barely met my goals (or rather, I got about 75% of the way to ALL my goals without actually meeting any of them). One of my fondest Ever Proven memories is my first holiday workout: 1775 on the 4th of July . I’d been a member for a couple weeks only, but I knew that the feeling of community I experienced then was what I had been missing at other exercise organizations.
How has CrossFit affected you since you started?
Aside from the physical changes it has brought about in my body, I have noticed a definite mental “itchiness” when I don’t get to the gym. When I make it back after a couple days off, it feels like it’s been a lot longer. Also, I tend to be much more relaxed on the days I attend. It’s the closest thing I have found to the workouts I used to do rowing at UNH.
What class do you normally attend?
Traditionally, 0530, but with a possible job change in my future, I’ll be searching for another comfortable timeslot
What are your short and long term goals?
Short term: to not die during a workout. Long term: either be one of those guys that takes their shirt off for the WoD, or to be fit enough to have enough wind to give other people encouragement during the runs rather just not dying.
