How and when did you discover CrossFit?
My college roommate joined CrossFit a couple years ago and couldn’t say enough good things about it. When my husband and I moved to the area, I wanted to find a gym where I would actually want to keep showing up instead of just paying the monthly fee for nothing. I Googled ‘Crossfit in my area’ and found Everproven which was about a year and a half ago at this point.

How has CrossFit affected you since you started?
It’s built a level of confidence within myself I wasn’t aware I had. I always played sports growing up, but this is the first time I’ve felt like my abilities are constantly challenged and evolving. Two years ago I would have laughed at the thought of putting a barbell overhead or half the other movements I do regularly now.

What class do you normally attend?
Pre-Covid I would attend 6:30PM but now that I’m working from home, I’m able to get to the 8:30AM class.

What are your short and long term goals?
Short term: Continue to get to the gym 4-5 days a week and complete each metcon in the Lifestyle scaled option (something I’ve only recently been able to start doing). Long term: Work on and improve movements I’m not great at. I would love to progress from jumping pull ups, single unders, and hanging knee raises. Also, find some sort of beginners competition to sign up for and compete in.
What’s your favorite WOD/movement?
I’m pretty partial to the chipper style WODs for some reason. And for movement, I’ve been loving a good squat clean lately.
What’s your LEAST favorite WOD/movement?
Anything involving burpees…so I guess I should add them to the list of movements to work on to improve.

What is one interesting fact many people don’t know about you?
My husband and I love hiking and are working on the NH48. We even got married on Mt. Major last year with about 20 friends who hiked up with us at 6:30AM!
