2022 July Athlete of the Month: Matthew Whitnell

How and when did you discover EverProven & what concerns or problems did you have before you started?

Heard about Crossfit from former co-workers and found EverProven in google. My problem before I started at EverProven was my self esteem and not wanting to look at myself in front of a mirror. I had very little self worth. And it also showed at work.

What results have you gotten so far?

Lost about 15-20 lbs of fat and forming some definition and striations. Now I feel I am getting stronger as a person. I can look in the mirror at myself and believe that anything is possible. My coworkers noticed a great change in my personality.  I have a lot more energy when I am there.  I feel I get a lot more recognition as well. Coach Royce motivates me, he changes up my workouts, giving me new challenges every week. I never thought I would be learning more gymnastics moves to help my mobility.  My physique has improved more than with any other Coach.

What is different about EverProven services?

The coach is a lot more detailed with his training, gets as much inspiration as his clients and is always focused on his client unlike previous trainers.

What would you tell people who are on the fence about personal training and joining EverProven?

I would tell them that athletes and body builders are not judgmental.  And the athletes at CrossFit have a very encouraging lifestyle, always making a positive experience for anyone who participates there.  I never see a sad face when I am there.

What is one interesting fact many people don’t know about you?

I am a scuba diver and shark enthusiast. Also a Dino nerd.

From Coach Royce:

“It is so much fun working with Matt – he brings the perfect blend of discipline, curiosity, and flexibility. He has made incredible progress in less than a year, losing nearly 20lbs and transforming his body!” – Coach Royce Claflin
