I discovered CrossFit about 3 years ago. I had some friends at work who worked out at CrossFit gyms and they loved CrossFit. They recommended I give it a try. At that point in my life, I really needed a change and thought what do I have to lose?
How has CrossFit affected you since you started?
Honestly, I feel like I can do anything! I used to constantly dream of being unprepared. You know those dreams where you are back in high school and can’t remember the combination to your locker or haven’t studied for a math test or are late to turn in an assignment? Since I started CrossFit my stress level is lower, I feel better, I am learning new things about myself, and best of all–I do not have those dreams of being unprepared anymore!!! I tell anyone who will listen–everything is better with CrossFit!
What class do you normally attend?
I attend ALL of the classes–it really just depends on my schedule. I go before work and used to go to the 745 PM class after work. I try to fit class in at least 4 times a week. Lately I have been attending the 0830 class.
What are your short and long term goals?
Short term, I am trying to get used to working w/ a 20# wallball.
Long term, I want to be able to do a strict pull up.
What’s your favorite WOD/movement?
Low skill. Heavy weight. I am your girl. I love to do anything w/ DBalls, Farmers Carries, dead lifts, or Sled pushes.
What’s your LEAST favorite WOD/movement?
Medball Cleans. What can I say? I just dont get it. Many a goldfish have died- in my pursuit of mastering the movement. To the goldfish community at large-I am sorry!
What is one interesting fact many people don’t know about you?
When I started CrossFitt 3 years ago, I weighed 235# and could barely do a sit up!
