Mae’s Journey to a 305lb Deadlift

Just a few years ago during a goal-setting session, Mae outlined a couple personal targets. She hit those faster than she expected by adding in personal training with a couple of our coaches while also regularly attending CrossFit classes. Once she saw what she could achieve with a little extra focus, she decided to go all in. She committed to filling in the gaps with intentional personal training and dialing in her nutrition. That’s when everything started to change.

For Mae, nutrition had always come with mixed messages and years of misinformation. One of the biggest mindset shifts she had to make? Realizing that fat doesn’t make you fat. It sounds simple, but unlearning years of diet culture isn’t easy. With the help of Coach Katie, who challenged her beliefs and pushed her to think differently, Mae rewired her relationship with food. She started fueling her body with what it needed—and the results followed.

She lost FIVE pounds of body fat while also gaining a whole pound of muscle, something that’s incredibly difficult to do. The key wasn’t some extreme plan or quick fix. It was sticking to her numbers, being patient, and trusting that real change takes time.

At the same time, Mae had her eyes on a long-time goal: a 300-pound deadlift. With the guidance of both Coach Katies, she worked tirelessly to strengthen her weak points, improve her technique, and build the confidence to go after it. And just this past week—after months of consistency and grit—Mae pulled 305 pounds off the floor. It was more than a personal record; it was the culmination of every training session, every carefully tracked meal, and every mindset shift she made along the way.

Mae’s story is a powerful reminder that the best results don’t come from shortcuts. They come from showing up, trusting your coaches, and playing the long game. We’re incredibly proud of her progress—and we know this is just the beginning.
