June Athlete of the Month Amanda

June Athlete of the Month: Amanda Curry

What our coaches have to say about our athlete of the month:

“It’s been amazing to see Amanda step into the EverProven community, have her two daughters, and then take ownership of her health and well-being to the extent that she is likely in the healthiest and fittest era of her entire life.

Amanda is always working hard in every class she attends. She has put continuous effort into both her nutrition and her fitness and prioritizes her health so that she can show up for her family in the best way possible.

Amanda has shown consistency with her fitness, workouts and nutrition. She is patient and trusts the process. She is a role model and a great example of what this community stands for. Her sparkling personality lights up a room and she is determined and strong in all aspects of her life.

When did you join EverProven and what brought you here?

I joined EverProven in March of 2023 when I was 8 months postpartum with my first daughter. I remember I was walking up the stairs with her in my arms and I was winded. That scared me. And in that moment, I knew I had to find a local CrossFit to get myself back into shape—not only for me, but to keep up with her when she got older.

What do you like best about being an EverProven athlete?

I was an athlete my entire life (field hockey, softball, basketball, lacrosse) and joined my first CrossFit gym in 2013. I’ve been off and on with CrossFit for years and I think it’s because I never felt super comfortable wherever I was. Sure I had nice coaches and friendly members, but they just don’t compare to the atmosphere that EverProven has.

It is truly like a little family and I love that I am apart of it. When I first started, I was welcomed with smiles and most of all, so much encouragement. I was extremely nervous to start working out again because I had an emergency C-section, but some of the coaches are mothers who also had C-sections and they helped me modify so many movements.

I had never felt so comfortable challenging my body after what I had been through emotionally and physically. When new parents say “it takes a village”, it really does and EverProven is one of my own villages. I’m so grateful.

Can you share a specific health improvement or positive change in your life that you attribute to EverProven?

In the winter of 2025, I worked with Coach Katie on my nutrition for six weeks. I’ve always had a love for food, but I never understood macros, and I had a tendency to under-eat. I have become so consistent in the gym, but I wanted to understand how to properly fuel my body to help burn some excess fat and build more muscle.

In those six weeks, I burned 11lbs of fat and built muscle! I was hitting PRs every week and I can confidently say I felt my very best. I was astounded at what I learned and I made so many habitual changes that I am forever grateful for. I even eat cottage cheese now!!!

What advice would you give to someone who is hesitant to become an EverProven athlete?

If the thought even crosses your mind to try a new gym and you’re considering CrossFit, schedule an On-Ramp with EverProven. You won’t find another gym that cares so passionately about helping others hit their personal goals.

Every single coach is empathetic and will do whatever it takes to help you. I honestly can’t picture my life without this gym. Here’s a takeaway for you: My husband used to laugh at me for years because I was doing CrossFit when we first started dating. (He was an avid runner and never lifted weights.) In 2023, I told him about Bring a Friend Day and he joined me for a workout. He ended up joining EverProven that exact week, and is still a member to this day.

When you aren’t at the gym what is your favorite thing to do?

Paddleboarding on the lake, playing with my kiddos, exploring new farms in the area and just hanging out with good people! I’m pretty easy.

What is one interesting fact many people don’t know about you?

I play the violin! I started in fourth grade and played until I graduated high school. I recently picked it back up and it’s been so fun to get back into it.
